The Pip Box Review (May) – Cruelty Free & Vegan Friendly Beauty!

The Pip Box

Here we have my first ever Pip Box! I was so excited to recieve this as not only is it such an easy way to try out new products, but also introduces you to brands you may not have come across before! The Pip Box is a Subscription Box containing all Cruelty Free & Vegan friendly beauty products (an award winning subscription box might I add!). All products are either full sized or travel sized – no sachets or samples, with an average box value of £45 – for £13.50!? Another incredible part to point out is that 50p from every box is donated to Animal Free Research UK. On top of all that, The Pip Box is named after her dog Pip – so cute!!!

The Pip Box

“Every Pip Box contains at least 5 items, one of which is always a full sized make-up item. Unlike most beauty subscription boxes we never feature one-time-use sachet samples.

Our current average value per box is just over £45 and our current feedback rating is 4.7 out of 5, as voted by our subscribers themselves.

We make sure our box edits are always on trend and suitable for the season – think cooling mists and coral nail polishes in the summer, with matte lipsticks and hydrating balms in the winter.

You’ll also never receive the same item twice because every edit is created bespoke each and every month.”

So let’s get into the products included in May 2018’s Pip Box!

MoYou Stamping Set

MoYouWeirdly enough I have recently been researching stamping and watching alot of YouTube tutorials, with MoYou being the focus! Bare in mind i am definitely no nail technician, but this stamping set is so easy to use! Much easier than I had expected! This particular plate is from the Kaleidoscope Collection and would normally cost £5.99, along with the Classic Stamper – usually £2.99. Overall this duo is the perfect introduction to stamping and has taken my DIY mani’s to another level!

MoYou

Bloomtown Roll-On Infused Oil

Bloomtown

This is an absolute gem! I had no idea what to do with this initially as I have not come across these before so I just followed the instructions – and I am in love! Not only does this smell absolutely amazing, but it genuinely boosts my mood! Applied to “pulse points” as the instructions recommend this works perfectly as a subtle fragrance AND it just makes you smile! Usually priced at £4.80, I’ve no idea how it works but I am obsessed!

Glo By Glory Glo Stix Semi-Matte Liquid Lipstick

Glo By GloryNow here is the perfect example of discovering new brands… I had not come across Glo By Glory before so was intrigued to try this out. It is a stunning, full size liquid lipstick with a gorgeous finish (as it states in its’ title – a semi-matte finish). This would normally be priced around £14 (the website is in dollars) so with just this product alone the value included in this box is insane! The colour (Sugar Dumpling) is absolutely beautiful, a soft but rich dusty rose shade that has brilliant pigmentation but still looks natural. Super adorable packaging, a genuinely lovely product!

Glo By Glory Swatches

Conscious Skincare Shampoo & Conditioner

Conscious Skincare

Another brand that is new to me – and it’s hair! This hair duo are in the Grapefruit and Cedarwood collection and for the 250ml sizes it would normally cost about £23 for a full sized set (these are travel sized – perfect to try a range out!) The packaging is so simple and clean looking and the scent is heavenly! There is definitely the grapefruit there but in a sort of soft musky way… difficult to describe but SO addictive!

The Pip Box

So!!! A fabulous range to start with! While a subscription to beauty products isn’t something I have done before, it is such an affordable way to try out new brands and products – and so much fun! There is also a 10% discount if you sign up for 3 months at a time instead of the usual monthly plan, PLUS there are 2 subscription plans to choose from. You can also earn “Pip Points” (seriously satisfying to say…) with your orders that you can redeem as vouchers.

On a side note if you like looking at pictures of cute pups (who doesn’t…) then check out the About Us page too!

Maui Moisture Curl Quench Review

Maui Moisture Curl Quench Review

Maui Moisture Curl Quench Review

Maui Moisture Curl Quench

Maui Moisture is a brand I came across in Superdrug (I will admit it was the packaging that caught my attention!) and I instantly began researching their position on animal testing. As you can imagine, I was beyond excited when I found out that not only are they cruelty free, but they are vegan, gluten free, sulphate free, silicone free, everything free! As a curly girl (another note is that all of the ingredients seem to be CG Method approved if you are a follower of the Curly Girl Method!), I dove straight in and bought the Maui Moisture Curl Quench Collection and couldn’t wait to get started. So let’s go!

Maui Moisture Curl QuenchMaui Moisture Claims:
“Rich coconut oil is blended into this creamy gentle *collection along with papaya butter and plumeria extract. It helps detangle, defrizz and define your curls while enhancing softness and body for shiny, bouncy curls, coils or waves.”

So I will admit this was one of the first curl specific collections that I used in the beginning of my curly journey, before I properly knew how to manage my curls – so the finished results on my hair weren’t all that different to look at. What was instantly different however was how my hair felt. My hair loves to tangle so in the past I have had to use a ridiculous amount of conditioner or even constant hair masks to try and work through it. But literally straight away – and just with the shampoo – my hair felt nowhere near as tangled as it normally would, and following with the conditioner my fingers practically glided through my wet hair – this was impressive!

Maui Moisture Curl QuenchA little further down the line and I have tried different techniques on managing my curly hair, and I must say this magnificent duo still remains my go to combo on wash days. My hair is left so clean and soft, but not heavy or weighed down – and most importantly of all it feels moisturised and tangle free!

The scent of this collection is absolutely amazing. A mix of buttery scents and coconut, it is like a tropical haven! I have recently added the Maui Moisture Curl Quench Coconut Smoothie – and so far so good – very good. It takes this process to a whole new level and enhances the beautiful scent that lasts in the hair for days (unless your styling products are strongly scented in which case make sure they get along!).

The other thing I love about the Maui Moisture Curl Quench Collection is the price. Compared to other curl specific products this range is SO affordable! Both the shampoo and conditioner are priced at £8.99, and there are also regular offers and promotions to keep your eye out for. That being said, these bottles are pretty decently sized so depending on how often you wash your hair these should last a good while!

Overall, I really can’t find any negative points about this collection. The only thing that would improve it would be to add in a hair mask or some styling products, but as a wash day collection these will remain in my go to products for the foreseeable future! Just gorgeous!!

Noughty To The Rescue Review!

Noughty To The Rescue Review!

Noughty To The Rescue

I first noticed Noughty on a random trip to Superdrug, and was instantly intrigued! Their packaging is so sleek, and there is a range to suit every hair type! While I do have curly hair, rather than opt for the obvious “Wave Hello” range – as my hair has been on the dry side lately I couldn’t resist this To The Rescue Collection. This range includes a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and serum. So – I jumped in head first!

“Like a knight in shining armour, our 97% natural *collection comes charging to the rescue of dry and frizzy hair.”

Noughty To The Rescue

Noughty To The Rescue Shampoo

“Sweet almond and sunflower see extracts help to transform splits, snaps and that dreaded frizz into the perfect fairytale ending!”

Noughty To The Rescue Conditioner

“Sweet almond, shea butter and olive oil help to transform splis, snaps and that dreaded frizz into the perfect fairytale ending!”

Noughty To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment

“Come charging to the rescue of hair in distress. All the goodness over processed hair needs, with none of the heaviness or build-up. Packed with nourishing sweet almond, restoring black oats and vitamin rich argan oil to help repair and transform frizzy and damaged hair. It’s your knight in shining armour!”

Noughty To The Rescue Anti-Frizz Serum

“This deeply nourishing, anti-frizz serum aids in repairing and protecting dry locks, splits and snaps. Bursting with sweet almond and argan oils. It’s your knight in shining armour.”

Noughty To The Rescue

Noughty To The RescueSo if my math is correct, that’s 2 knights (shining armour included) and 2 fairytale endings! Who wouldn’t want that!? But in all seriousness, this collection is heavenely. The sweet almond scent is so luscious and these products feel genuinely luxurious. The shampoo lathers up like a dream and doesn’t leave hair feeling stripped or dry – just clean and soft. Personally I use hair masks in between shampoo and conditioner, and to be honest this hair mask literally did it all! Detangling is so quick and easy, and my hair feels like silk after just a few minutes. Following this with the conditioner is just the cherry on the top of a beautiful hair loving cake! Not a knot in sight, and my hair is left clean, moisturised and smelling incredible!

Noughty To The RescueAs I then use styling products suited to my curly hair (Wave Hello Taming Cream is now one of them!) I use the serum right at the end when my hair is almost dry – and wow. It doesn’t weigh hair down at all. I scrunch this into my ends and the finish it gives is stunning. It perfectly defines, smooths any flyaways or frizzy bits and gives amazing shine, and I use it again between washes each night before going to bed to prevent any frizz that may occur during sleep!

The obvious best part (other than everything I have just raved about!) is Noughtys’ commitment to not just being Cruelty Free, but their products and ingredients in general. “All our gorgeous products are packed full of goodness, vegan-friendly, contains no parabens, sulphates, petrochemicals or silicones and of course we don’t test on Bambi, Skippy or Lassie.” They have an entire page on this called “Bunnies Unite!“.

Noughty Cruelty Free

On top of this, they are so affordable! The Shampoo & Conditioner are priced at £6.99, and the mask and serum are £8.99. Depending on where you purchase from, there are also offers and deals so keep your eyes peeled! Currently you can buy direct from Noughty, Ocado & Superdrug – but they have also just confirmed they will be launching on Feel Unique before the Summer! There is a range literally for everyone, so go ahead and find your Noughty side!

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture has become one of my all time favourite hair care brands. The packaging is always stunning and the products really are beautiful. As I have mentioned before I previously owned a Hair & Beauty Salon, and even comparing Shea Moistures’ products to higher end “professional” products the results are incredible. As a curly girl, the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine collection caught my attention straight away!

Shea Moisture Claims:

Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo
Cleanse dry, delicate curls with this gentle Sulphate-free shampoo. Formulated with fast absorbing, nutrient-rich Coconut Oil and certified organic Shea Butter to leave curls vibrant, bouncy and healthy looking.

Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner
This lightweight, daily conditioner restores moisture and smoothes dry hair cuticles. No more knots, snarls and tangles. Tames frizz as it defines and enhances natural curls.

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus

Shea Moisture Coconut & HibiscusThe Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus collection were the first “curly hair specific” products I tried when I started my curly hair journey, and they are still very much in my staple hair care items. The shampoo is literally delicious, and doesn’t tangle up my hair as a lot of shampoos normally would (it is usually a matted mess until I soak it in conditioner!). The conditioner is actually a little too lightweight for me personally, however that being said it is perfect for detangling and doesn’t weigh the hair down at all. I slather this all over and can be confident that it won’t make my hair flat or greasy – and then just use something a little thicker and more concentrated on my ends if needed.

Shea Moisture Coconut & HibiscusThe scent of this collection is heavenly! Like a Shea & Coconut cocktail, it smells incredible and the scent lasts for days! And as for the packaging, Shea Moistures packaging has a standard theme with each collection colour coded. I absolutely love their packaging, and the pump on the conditioner helps to prevent any wastage.

Price wise these are so affordable, both cost £9.99! Plus there is often some sort of sale and they are regularly in 3 for 2 offers! I also use the Shea Moisture Coconut Curl Enhancing Smoothie which has become one of my ride or die products! Overall this collection is nurturing and moisturising but light enough not weigh curls down. And the gorgeous scent is the cherry on the top! Beautiful!!

LUSH Hair Custard Review

LUSH Hair Custard Review

LUSH Hair Custard Review

Lush Hair Custard

LUSH Hair Custard not only has an incredibly yummy sounding name, but is incredibly yummy in every aspect to match. It has completely won me over altogether. I was a little apprehensive at first, as I am personally not a fan of heavy cream styling products as they tend to weigh my curly hair down and build up. BUT! I was so impressed with this product that it has become a genuine staple in my hair care routine – and an absolute bonus is it smells insane!

Lush Hair Custard

LUSH Claims:
A supremely creamy tub of comforting vanilla pod infusion and exquisite argan oil, whipped up into a mouth-watering hair dessert. The proof is in the pudding (and in the layers of softening Fair Trade organic cocoa butter, beeswax and honey, of course). A mere trifle is all you need to lightly style, hydrate and perfume in one. Dab on wet ends or scrunch through dry hair for light hold and protective hydration.

So. I’m sure just from reading the description it is obvious that the scent of this product plays a big role in its attractiveness. To me, it legit smells like Caramac (if you haven’t tried a Caramac – get one. Seriously.) It smells so delicious, and the scent really does last even without refreshing.

As a curly girl, anything that will “oomf” up my hair without weighing it down gets me interested – and when it smells this good!? It would be rude not to! Consistency wise it is fairly self explanatory, literally just like custard. It melts into your palms and becomes a light sort of cream which I wouldn’t usually expect to do much in the way of volume and definition. But it really does create a complete transformation! I do notice a bit of a build up if I use it every day (between washes), so I tend to use on freshly washed hair and then again on a day where I want some of that extra “oomf” rather than using every day. And as I mentioned, the scent will last until the next wash day – better than a hair perfume!

Lush Hair Custard

The Lush Hair Custard is standard for the packaging of LUSH, which I have previously made obvious that I am big fan of. The tub is a great size giving enough product to last but also being convenient for travelling etc. It may have been easier to apply in a pump format rather than a pot, but due to its custard like form that probably wouldn’t have worked. I just dab a finger onto the top of the product in the pot and warm up in my hands before scrunching – there really is no need to scoop out excess amounts of products. A little goes a long way, and it works its magic instantly.

This isn’t exactly on the cheaper side of LUSH’s product pricing at £14.95 for 100g or £29.95 for 200g, but considering the teeny weeny small amount needed it really will last for ages which to me is worth every penny. It is no secret how much of a fan I am of LUSH’s products, and the LUSH Hair Custard is yet another superb addition to my all time favourites!

LUSH Daddy-O Shampoo Review

LUSH Daddy-O Shampoo Review

OK, calling all blondes! Lush Daddy-O Shampoo is by far the best purple toning shampoo I have used. As a former hairdresser I have tried a lot (probably in the hundreds!) of purple shampoos, and while some are considerably better than others, the Lush Daddy-O Shampoo is a very clear winner for me and miles ahead in its own league!

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo
Lush Daddy-O Shampoo

LUSH Claims:
Daddy-O works to add volume and shine to your hair. It’s the lemon and organic lime juice which allow the cuticles to lie flat and reflect more light, helping the hair to shine. We’ve created an infusion from toothed wrack seaweed and organic lemons, that cleanses and softens. Extra virgin coconut oil hydrates the hair, whilst fine sea salt gets to work by to softening and giving body to your hair. What makes this extra special is that it can revive your silver and blonde tones.

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo
Lush Daddy-O Shampoo

Lush Daddy-O is literally everything you could want from a purple shampoo. Mainly, it actually works! The colour pigments are clear just from looking at it, and it really knocks out any yellow or brassy tones. Also, this actually isn’t just for blondes. This is perfect for anyone wanting to get rid of warm tones regardless of your hair colour. If you are a blonde though, be slightly cautious about leaving it on a little too long, as it really does work so you may get that pastel tinge if left unattended (although that is actually a really popular colour that can be hard to get!).

The other wonderful thing about this shampoo is that it is such a lovely shampoo on top of its toning miracles. It is super moisturising, smells like a floral perfume and lathers up like a dream.

It is no secret I am a huge fan of Lushs’ packaging, I love the quirky chalkboard logo and simple packaging – and the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic.

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo
Lush Daddy-O Shampoo

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo comes in a few different sizes, 100g £6.25, 250g £12.25, 500g £19.95 and 1kg £34.95. This size range is epic! It makes it so affordable if you are new to this product and want to just try it out, but at the same time once you are addicted to it (which you will be!) then the value of the bigger sizes is incredible. The bigger sizes may seem expensive, but believe me they will last SO long and you will get so much more product for your pound.

This really is an incredible shampoo for so many reasons, but mainly – as a toning shampoo it really does work. Whether you are just wanting to banish yellow or orange tones from your hair or want to maintain a super ashy cool tone, this is an absolute must have product that I know I will turn to time and time again.

Aveda Damage Remedy

Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment has been surrounded by a fair amount of hype in the world of hair products and as a curly girl my hair needs all the help it can get. I was keen to try this out and I must say, I love it – definitely worth the hype. I could literally feel the difference it was making to my hair as soon as I applied it, and it left my hair super soft, nourished and tangle free.

Aveda Damage Remedy
Aveda Damage Remedy

Aveda Claims :

Intensive treatment packed with quinoa protein strengthens damaged hair with deep repair. Leaves hair feeling healthy, smooth and strong. Aveda’s own pure-fume aroma with certified organic bergamot, mandarin, ylang ylang and other pure flower and plant essences.

My very sensitive hair definitely felt stronger after using this, and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to detangle! The softness it creates is beautiful, and it manages to deeply condition hair without weighing it down or making it feel flat and heavy.

While I am someone who lives for amazingly (and usually strong) scented products, this understated perfume-like scent actually made a refreshing change to my usual choices. The smell isn’t particularly strong, but this was a plus for me and it worked so well with the other strongly scented products in my hair care routine.

Aveda Damage Remedy
Aveda Damage Remedy

The packaging for the Aveda Damage Remedy is right up my street. I love the simple design, it looks so elegant and “spa like”. A little goes a very long way with this, which is unusual for my hair. I usually slap on ridiculous amounts of conditioner to sort out my matted curls, but a small dollop of this just melted away the tangles with ease and left such softness. I left this on for about 5 minutes (I always intend to leave masks on for ages but get bored easily…) and it was more than long enough. To be honest, I felt it working its magic instantly after applying so I now also use it just as a conditioner in between.

As hair masks go the full size of this is a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion it is totally worth it. 150ml is priced at £29.50, and this really would last such a long time! If you get hooked and are in a position to do so, there is also a humongous 500ml bottle, but this does cost £70.00. If like me you are wanting to try this without parting with that amount of money, then fear not! There is a “travel size” (I use quotations because I think this is actually a really decent size for the price) which costs just £9.00!!! At 25ml it is alot smaller than the others, but there is genuinely such a good amount of product!

Overall, I 100% rate the Aveda Damage Remedy. As a former hairdresser I have tried a lot of hair masks out and have developed very clear favourites that I continue to use – and this is now one of them. It does exactly what a hair mask should do, transforming brittle dryness into soft and healthy hair. I can definitely recommend this as a staple must-have mask in anyones hair care routine, and I straight up have no idea how I managed so long without it!

Osmo Curl Collection Review

So Osmo has become kind of a big deal to me, and their Curl Collection has been pretty life changing. As I have previously mentioned on Belles’ Bunnies, I began my “Curly Journey” in winter 2017, and purely down to the products I chose to use I am finally loving my curly hair! The Osmo Curl Collection fluid and spray have been my go to products, and they honestly are amazing.

Osmo Curl
Osmo Curl

Osmo Curl Fluid

Osmo Curl Fluid
Osmo Curl Fluid

Osmo Claims:
Curl enhancer for incredible shine and movement. Defines and revitalises permed or naturally curly hair.

This product does exactly what it claims to do. It tames any frizz I would usually have to fight, it makes my curls smoother (not straighter – just smoother) and feel nourished AND it doesn’t leave it feeling crunchy or “set”. You genuinely can’t feel the product in your hair at all, but it has a huge impact on my curls (the main thing being they actually look like curls – not like Hagrid).

The packaging is perfect, the tube makes it so easy to apply small amounts of products and build up where needed. I use about a 20p size amount for each side of my hair, combing it through to make sure I distribute the product evenly. And boom – it is so quick and easy but makes such a big difference!

Osmo Curl Spray

Osmo Curl Spray
Osmo Curl Spray

Osmo Claims:
Lightweight spray that defines and controls unruly curls while enhancing each individual curl.

And so we come to the game changer. The Curl Spray is quite possibly my favourite styling product of all time. I LIVE by this stuff. It transforms curly hair from defined curls (from using the Curl Fluid) to full on diva sass. It is not sticky in any way, but it gives the definition and volume I used to admire on models and Pinterest!

The packaging for this is a spray, I keep my hair in two halves (left and right) and usually just go to town. I start by spraying all over, lifting a few layers to make sure all is covered. I don’t brush this through (very important with curly hair – when you are finishing your styling routine do not brush through your hair again until you next wash it – trust me!). On the days inbetween washes this product is literally all I use. Even though I sleep in a pineapple my hair does get a little disrupted when sleeping, so I just use this spray again, all over, and it transforms my curls back to their glorious state. The beauty of this Curl Spray is that you cannot use too much. It will not go crunchy and it will not “set” anything, so spray spray spray! I full on 100% swear by this product.

The scent of the Osmo Curl Collection is beautiful. As you know I am not the best at describing scents, but to try I would say it is sweet (but not like candy) and slightly perfumed (but not overpowering)!. That being said while the scent is subtle it is still definitely there and it lasts on your hair for days. It is such a stunning understated scent that is so addictive.

The pricing for this collection is totally worth the money. They are both priced at £8.99, and for the quality of these products I would happily pay more (although I am grateful that they are so affordable!) Obviously I go through the Curl Spray a lot quicker as I use it pretty much every day, but even then I am still more than happy to pay £8.99 to feel like I have the hair of a Goddess!

Osmo Curl
Osmo Curl

I cannot recommend the Osmo Curl Collection enough to anyone who is is either starting their Curly Journey or who is already on it and looking for product inspiration. Osmo have created the perfect double act to boost curls to their ultimate potential – all I am waiting for now is shampoo and conditioners to match and a full line!!

Maria Nila Colour Refresh Review

Maria Nila Colour Refresh Review

Maria Nila Colour Refresh Review

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

Maria Nila is a brand I fell in love with as a hairdresser. Their products are beautiful and give amazing results – and they are Cruelty Free! The line that has always stood out to me are their Colour Refreshers, and even though I have moved on from hairdressing I still swear by them. An important thing to note – these will not “change” the colour of your hair, for example if you have dark hair and use a red refresher you are not going to automatically have red hair. What they do however is enhance your hair colour and tone. I have previously had red hair (and loved it!) and used their Bright Red toner every time I washed my hair – it kept the colour so bright and vibrant.
However, I am now very much a blonde. I started with the silver grey hair colour and have gradually transitioned this to grow my natural colour into an ombre effect, and these toners have been everything to me!

On a side note for anyone looking to achieve the silver grey hair colour, these featured toners are exactly what you need. But, you do also need to have super light hair to start with. I’m talking serious bleaching so make sure you get professional advice before starting as you could do a lot of damage to your hair! Once you have a really light blonde (similar to the inside of a banana) then tone tone tone!

Even though it is a lot more intense with the silver/grey, I still use the same products and mix ratios now. So lets get into it!

Maria Nila Claims:
Nourishing masque with colour pigments that will quickly freshen up your hair. 2 pair of gloves comes for free with every ordered Colour Refresh.

Pearl Silver 0.20

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

Pearl Silver is the ultimate shade in my opinion. Similar to a purple shampoo, this removes any yellow or brassy tones in blonde hair. As mentioned earlier depending on how light your hair currently is will depend on the results, but toning all blonde shades with this is an absolute dream. This product forms the bulk of my toner, and I wouldn’t be without it.

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

Black 2.00

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

Most people find this shade a bit scary, but there really is no need to be daunted by it. This is the part that gives the ash tone rather than just removing the warmth. Black will take your toner to another level, and it is key for getting that silver blonde that I have spoken about.

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

White Mix 0.00

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

White mix is super versatile, and is used to create your own unique toners. You could just use a white conditioner for this, but the White Mix does have a thicker consistency than most conditioners so is easier to work with. Mixing this with any of their other toners will mute down the colours, for example using it with a pink toner will create a pastel candy pink (again the results will depend on what colour hair you are starting with).

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

My Mix Ratio
So for me personally I have used the same combination of toners for a long time, and this works for whatever level of blonde I happen to be at that time. To cover my whole head, I use about 7-8 pumps of Pearl Silver, and 1 pump of Black. I then mute this down with the White Mix or conditioner, and usually match the amount of coloured toner I have used – in this case 8-9 pumps. This can vary on how yellow my hair is looking at the time, and if you are looking for a clean white blonde or a grey / silver tone, then use more Black and a bit less Pearl Silver. Think of it as mixing paint! It will look dark in the bowl so don’t’ panic, just stay on the safer side to start with if you are worried. Another point to mention, with ombre or highlighted hair start on the roots/darker parts first, then finish off with the parts that are already pretty blonde. I tend to put it on my roots for 5-10 minutes and then run through the ends before rinsing out, or use it all over with a white coloured hair mask.

Maria Nila
Maria Nila

Overall, there are so many shades to enhance so many hair colours, and because they are all mixable you can literally create your perfect toner. The packaging not only looks sleek, but the pump makes it easy to control how much product you are adding. And another bonus to these? The smell!! I can’t quite put my finger on what the scent is, but an attempt to describe it I would say like a sweet, vanilla perfume. It is glorious! Whether you are a professional hairdresser or just toning at home, I cannot recommend these toners enough. They really are perfect.
