Revolution X Soph Full Collection Review & Swatches

Revolution X Soph

I’m not sure if its’ appropriate to be quite as excited as I was about this collection, but after I tried the first Revolution X Soph collaboration I could not wait to get my hands on the new products! When Soph announced on her YouTube channel that she had created more products with Revolution and that they were being released that day, I was literally a woman on a mission. And they are so ridiculously beautiful! So here they all are!!

Revolution X Soph Eyeshadow Palette

Makeup Revolution Soph XThis is just a stunning palette. Such an incredible range of shades, I have already done a full review of this palette (click here for Full Review) but shades that are worth bringing up again are Cuppa Tea, Peaches, Pumpkin and Pine Tree. And Petrol. Just all of them!

Revolution X Soph Highlighter Palette

Makeup Revolution Soph XIf you have watched Sophs’ YouTube vidoes you will know that a highlighter palette was a must, and she definitely didn’t hold back! Again I have already included this palette in another review (click here for Full Review). Literally every shade is gorgeous, and any shades that are too light/dark to use as highlighters for your skin tone work fabulously as eyeshadows too!

Revolution X Soph Extra Spice Palette

OK, so now onto the new stuff. This palette is so freaking pretty! The shades are in some way bolder than the previous palette but are still so wearable.

Revolution X Soph Extra Spice

This paired with the tones of the first palette make the absolute dream team. The shade Cookie Dough is by far my favourite transition/crease shade I think I have ever used! Lakes is a stunning khaki tone and combined with the rose gold shimmer called Dreams these instantly grabbed my attention, but literally all of the colours are just beautiful.

I love the reversed colour scheme used for the packaging, with the rose gold lid and pale pink writing (opposite to the first palette) and this one as with the first includes a full mirror. As always with Revolution eyeshadows the pigmentation is incredible, and at just £10.00 it really is too good to miss!

Revolution X Soph Lipsticks

Revolution X Soph Lipstick

Soph plus lipsticks just has to equal nude shades right? Exactly right. There are 3 shades to this collection and i am in love with every single one! The packaging is as cute as you could imagine, with the frosted pink bullet and rose gold lid. Also, these are £4.00! It’s madness!

Revolution X Soph Lipstick

Syrup is the lightest shade of the three and is a stunning pale nude with a brown undertone that looks so natural and elegant.

Cake is more of a rosey nude, and fortunately is my perfect “my lips but better” shade!

Fudge is the darkest shade and is a gorgeous rich brown nude.

Overall, I think it is safe to say I am obsessed with this collection. Even though I do have a fair amount of other palettes I genuinely think that for a beginner these palettes together are everything you would need to create SO many looks. Combining these eyeshadows with the popping highlight shades and beautiful nude lipsticks this collaboration is just absolutely genius! Congratulations Soph – you nailed it!!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define

I have finally got my hands on the hyped up Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer! These concealers were a pretty big launch from Makeup Revolution, and some are describing this as a dupe for the infamous Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (which is considerably more expensive!). So! Let’s dive in!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define

Makeup Revolution Claims:
The concealer for everyone. 25 shades ranging from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones. Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour and add definition. Our large doe foot applicator allows for smooth application that won’t drag on the delicate skin under your eyes.

Firstly, I think the shade range needs to be mentioned again…. 25 shades!? Absolutely incredible! I found my shades quite easily as I already have the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation (Full Review Here) so that is a pretty accurate guide, but Makeup Revolution do have full shade descriptions :

C2 – For fair skin tones with yellow undertone
C3 – For fair skin tones with neutral undertone
C4 – For light skin tones with pink undertone
C5 – For light skin tones with golden undertone

C6.5 – For light/medium skin tones with a yellow undertone
C7 – For medium skin tones with peach undertone
C8 – For medium skin tones with a golden undertone
C8.5 – For medium skin tones with a yellow undertone
C9 – For medium skin tones with a peach undertone
C10 – For medium skin tones with a golden undertone
C10.5 – For medium skin tones with a yellow undertone

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define

So! Once you have found your shades the fun really begins! The first amazing thing about these beauties is the packaging. Slightly “fatter” than typical concealer packaging but I love it! Plus this allows for the mega doe foot applicator which is honestly epic (and for some reason ridiculously satisfying to look at….). This combined with the rose gold detailing I think the packaging in general is pretty perfect.

I have the shades C0, C2 & C6. While it may seem like quite a jump between C2 & C6 these are actually my perfect shades depending on whether I have fake tanned or not! And as with their foundation stick I just mix them together when I am somewhere in the middle. I also picked up the white mixer just in case and this is SO stunning! I tend to like my concealer to look as natural as possible on a day to day basis, but when I am doing more of a full face of makeup mixing C0 with C2 lightens everything up to cover and highlight under the eyes.

Of course it doesn’t really matter what the packaging is like (or shouldn’t anyway..) and it comes down to the actual product. Thankfully, this concealer is genuinely beautiful. The application is a dream (again, super satisfying using the giant doe foot!) and the consistency is so creamy. As far as coverage goes for me it is bang on. It is fairly full coverage, but doesn’t completely blank everything out. It blends out beautifully – I just use my finger – and doesn’t crease or break up throughout the day. If you are looking for a concealer that literally covers everything then this layers up brilliantly. I wouldn’t necessarily go with more than 2 layers of this as it may start to look a bit cakey, but it is really easy to build up. It does dry down fairly quickly so bare that in mind too.

Overall, I am obsessed. At £4.00 – yes, £4.00, the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer is absolutely genius. It is so easy to customize the coverage of this and the shades match perfectly. Even when building up the coverage it still looks natural! It really is just fabulous – more please!!!!

INIKA Liquid Foundation Review

INIKA Liquid Foundation

When it comes to Cruelty Free Foundations I have previously been a little set in my ways and haven’t branched out to try new products – until now! And starting with the INIKA Certified Organic Liquid Foundation, I love the finish am so relieved that this is a success! A beautiful foundation, it is right up my street!

INIKA Claims:

INIKA Certified Organic Liquid Foundation combines natural antioxidants, minerals and Certified Organic ingredients to hydrate and illuminate the skin.

INIKA Liquid Foundation - Swatches

INIKA’s description of their Liquid Foundation is short and sweet, but nicely rounds up what this foundation is all about. The finish is absolutely stunning, somewhere between matte and glowy – this gives the perfect balance of illuminating the skin without getting oily.

I would say this foundation has a medium coverage, but is so buildable. It looks SO natural and lasts amazingly well, and at the end of the day it wears down so naturally – no patchiness or separating in sight! Just perfect!! The consistency is fabulous as for me it is bang in the middle – not too runny to slide all over the place, but not too thick either keeping the natural finish. It gives the coverage without the cake!

INIKA Liquid Foundation - NudeThere are 8 shades in this foundation, all of which will suit any skin tone perfectly. While this isn’t a huge range of shades, the undertones in them are perfect. I have the shade “Nude”, and while there is a small amount of oxidisation, this was actually a great thing as the shade works beautifully with my pale yellow-toned skin. They have pretty detailed shade descriptions on the website so it is super easy to match yourself up!

INIKA Liquid Foundation

This packaging is so chic! It is almost a frosted matte black and the gold detailing gives an extra edge of class. The pump applicator makes it so easy to use and avoids any mess or product wastage. I use one good pump and this covers my entire face. At £33.00, it isn’t the cheapest foundation I have tried, but in my opinion is definitely worth the extra pennies – plus MeiKind have kindly given me a site wide 10% discount code for you below!

Due to its consistency a little goes a long way, and even though this a new foundation for me I already know I can depend on this when I need my skin to look good and last! The INIKA Liquid Foundation is a beautiful product from a beautiful brand – and going on the quality of this foundation I can’t wait to try out some more products from their collection!
