Lush Hair Custard

LUSH Hair Custard not only has an incredibly yummy sounding name, but is incredibly yummy in every aspect to match. It has completely won me over altogether. I was a little apprehensive at first, as I am personally not a fan of heavy cream styling products as they tend to weigh my curly hair down and build up. BUT! I was so impressed with this product that it has become a genuine staple in my hair care routine – and an absolute bonus is it smells insane!

Lush Hair Custard

LUSH Claims:
A supremely creamy tub of comforting vanilla pod infusion and exquisite argan oil, whipped up into a mouth-watering hair dessert. The proof is in the pudding (and in the layers of softening Fair Trade organic cocoa butter, beeswax and honey, of course). A mere trifle is all you need to lightly style, hydrate and perfume in one. Dab on wet ends or scrunch through dry hair for light hold and protective hydration.

So. I’m sure just from reading the description it is obvious that the scent of this product plays a big role in its attractiveness. To me, it legit smells like Caramac (if you haven’t tried a Caramac – get one. Seriously.) It smells so delicious, and the scent really does last even without refreshing.

As a curly girl, anything that will “oomf” up my hair without weighing it down gets me interested – and when it smells this good!? It would be rude not to! Consistency wise it is fairly self explanatory, literally just like custard. It melts into your palms and becomes a light sort of cream which I wouldn’t usually expect to do much in the way of volume and definition. But it really does create a complete transformation! I do notice a bit of a build up if I use it every day (between washes), so I tend to use on freshly washed hair and then again on a day where I want some of that extra “oomf” rather than using every day. And as I mentioned, the scent will last until the next wash day – better than a hair perfume!

Lush Hair Custard

The Lush Hair Custard is standard for the packaging of LUSH, which I have previously made obvious that I am big fan of. The tub is a great size giving enough product to last but also being convenient for travelling etc. It may have been easier to apply in a pump format rather than a pot, but due to its custard like form that probably wouldn’t have worked. I just dab a finger onto the top of the product in the pot and warm up in my hands before scrunching – there really is no need to scoop out excess amounts of products. A little goes a long way, and it works its magic instantly.

This isn’t exactly on the cheaper side of LUSH’s product pricing at £14.95 for 100g or £29.95 for 200g, but considering the teeny weeny small amount needed it really will last for ages which to me is worth every penny. It is no secret how much of a fan I am of LUSH’s products, and the LUSH Hair Custard is yet another superb addition to my all time favourites!

LUSH Daddy-O Shampoo Review

OK, calling all blondes! Lush Daddy-O Shampoo is by far the best purple toning shampoo I have used. As a former hairdresser I have tried a lot (probably in the hundreds!) of purple shampoos, and while some are considerably better than others, the Lush Daddy-O Shampoo is a very clear winner for me and miles ahead in its own league!

LUSH Claims:
Daddy-O works to add volume and shine to your hair. It’s the lemon and organic lime juice which allow the cuticles to lie flat and reflect more light, helping the hair to shine. We’ve created an infusion from toothed wrack seaweed and organic lemons, that cleanses and softens. Extra virgin coconut oil hydrates the hair, whilst fine sea salt gets to work by to softening and giving body to your hair. What makes this extra special is that it can revive your silver and blonde tones.

Lush Daddy-O is literally everything you could want from a purple shampoo. Mainly, it actually works! The colour pigments are clear just from looking at it, and it really knocks out any yellow or brassy tones. Also, this actually isn’t just for blondes. This is perfect for anyone wanting to get rid of warm tones regardless of your hair colour. If you are a blonde though, be slightly cautious about leaving it on a little too long, as it really does work so you may get that pastel tinge if left unattended (although that is actually a really popular colour that can be hard to get!).

The other wonderful thing about this shampoo is that it is such a lovely shampoo on top of its toning miracles. It is super moisturising, smells like a floral perfume and lathers up like a dream.

It is no secret I am a huge fan of Lushs’ packaging, I love the quirky chalkboard logo and simple packaging – and the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic.

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo comes in a few different sizes, 100g £6.25, 250g £12.25, 500g £19.95 and 1kg £34.95. This size range is epic! It makes it so affordable if you are new to this product and want to just try it out, but at the same time once you are addicted to it (which you will be!) then the value of the bigger sizes is incredible. The bigger sizes may seem expensive, but believe me they will last SO long and you will get so much more product for your pound.

This really is an incredible shampoo for so many reasons, but mainly – as a toning shampoo it really does work. Whether you are just wanting to banish yellow or orange tones from your hair or want to maintain a super ashy cool tone, this is an absolute must have product that I know I will turn to time and time again.

Lush Rose Jam products in general are pretty mesmerizing to me. The scent is like something I haven’t smelt before, and I don’t think anyone would be able to put it into words – it just wouldn’t do it justice. Their Rose Jam Shower Gel and Bath Bomb have been a favourite of mine for a long long time, and recently I discovered Jason And The Argon Oil Shampoo Bar which also has the same scent! So as you can imagine when I found out they had released a Rose Jam fragrance I couldn’t quite contain myself. A Rose Jam Body Spray is absolute genius!

LUSH Claims:
Blooms of fresh rose and succulent geranium combine to create this rich, romantic delight. Jam-packed with indulgence, every spritz exudes sophistication. Moreish rose oil from petals picked in Senir, Turkey, blossom on your skin while a touch of lemon cleanses the palate. Allow this rich, floral aroma to adorn your skin in soft, sweet perfume.

As their description says, this really is an unusual and beautiful scent. The packaging is not in a typical perfume or body spray style, but as we all know nothing is particularly typical when it comes to Lush. And although it is shaped much like a cleaning spray bottle, it fits perfectly with the Lush Cosmetics style and I love it.
Price wise it isn’t particularly cheap, but then again it is also HUGE. One downside is that there is only one size, and while I am pretty obsessed with it and would still buy the larger size anyway given the choice a smaller option that is more easily transportable would be bang on.

Lush Cosmetics is a brand that I fall in love with every time I try out a new product, and bringing out my favourite scent in a body spray form has literally made me so happy! A rose jam body lotion would top it all off nicely please! Imagine it  – a rose jam bath bomb and shower gel, the matching shampoo bar, then finishing the whole thing off with a hefty spritz of this! Sheer happiness in a bottle!
