Burt’s Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream Review

I discovered Burt’s Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream a few of years ago, and I will openly admit it was the scent that I first fell in love with (I am obsessed with banana scented products!) However, the first time I used this indulgent hand cream I woke up with the softest and most hydrated hands I think I’d ever had! As a former hairdresser and now working with animals outside, this hand cream has become a staple product that I use every day.

Burt’s Bees Claims :
57g jar of 100% natural hand cream
Moisturises dry hands
Hand cream conditions skin with beeswax
Tropical banana scent
Apply cream after every hand washing or as needed
How To:
Massage a small dollop of hand cream onto freshly washed hands. Use after every hand washing.
In my opinion this hand cream does live up to Burt’s Bees’ claims, in fact it probably exceeds these claims. The only thing I would slightly disagree with is the last claim “Apply cream after every hand washing” – I would say that this cream is a bit too thick to be used that often and I tend to use it before I go to bed as I wont be using my hands (it would probably be a bit unpractical to use this and then do housework for example). That being said, it is one of the reasons that I am so in love with this product. It almost feels like a moisturising mask on your hands and has completely soaked into the skin when you wake up in the morning.
And the scent!? Well! I can only describe it as heavenly. Think “classy banana milkshake”. It has an almost spa like smell and feel about it even though the obvious scent is still tropical bananas. I just love it.

The packaging also exceeds what would normally be expected of a reasonably priced hand cream. The glass jar is the perfect size, and the design looks fresh and clean on display. There is a small lip on the inside of the jar that the product can sit in, but once it is below this level it is too thick to move around inside and won’t keep going back in (it is easy enough to get out – I used the back of my fingernail).
In a perfect world it would be nice if there was a smaller, more handbag friendly size available as this product is just a tad too hefty to be carried around daily – for me anyway. But as previously mentioned I probably wouldn’t use it throughout the day because of its consistency, so mine sits on my bedside table looking pretty and soaking my hands in dreaminess every night!
