Aveda Damage Remedy Review
Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment has been surrounded by a fair amount of hype in the world of hair products and as a curly girl my hair needs all the help it can get. I was keen to try this out and I must say, I love it – definitely worth the hype. I could literally feel the difference it was making to my hair as soon as I applied it, and it left my hair super soft, nourished and tangle free.
Aveda Claims :
Intensive treatment packed with quinoa protein strengthens damaged hair with deep repair. Leaves hair feeling healthy, smooth and strong. Aveda’s own pure-fume™ aroma with certified organic bergamot, mandarin, ylang ylang and other pure flower and plant essences.
My very sensitive hair definitely felt stronger after using this, and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to detangle! The softness it creates is beautiful, and it manages to deeply condition hair without weighing it down or making it feel flat and heavy.
While I am someone who lives for amazingly (and usually strong) scented products, this understated perfume-like scent actually made a refreshing change to my usual choices. The smell isn’t particularly strong, but this was a plus for me and it worked so well with the other strongly scented products in my hair care routine.
The packaging for the Aveda Damage Remedy is right up my street. I love the simple design, it looks so elegant and “spa like”. A little goes a very long way with this, which is unusual for my hair. I usually slap on ridiculous amounts of conditioner to sort out my matted curls, but a small dollop of this just melted away the tangles with ease and left such softness. I left this on for about 5 minutes (I always intend to leave masks on for ages but get bored easily…) and it was more than long enough. To be honest, I felt it working its magic instantly after applying so I now also use it just as a conditioner in between.
As hair masks go the full size of this is a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion it is totally worth it. 150ml is priced at £29.50, and this really would last such a long time! If you get hooked and are in a position to do so, there is also a humongous 500ml bottle, but this does cost £70.00. If like me you are wanting to try this without parting with that amount of money, then fear not! There is a “travel size” (I use quotations because I think this is actually a really decent size for the price) which costs just £9.00!!! At 25ml it is alot smaller than the others, but there is genuinely such a good amount of product!
Overall, I 100% rate the Aveda Damage Remedy. As a former hairdresser I have tried a lot of hair masks out and have developed very clear favourites that I continue to use – and this is now one of them. It does exactly what a hair mask should do, transforming brittle dryness into soft and healthy hair. I can definitely recommend this as a staple must-have mask in anyones hair care routine, and I straight up have no idea how I managed so long without it!
