W7 Photo Shoot Foundation Review and Swatches!!
W7 is a brand I came across on YouTube actually (thank you Stephanie Lange!) during my ongoing hunt for affordable Cruelty Free make up brands. I was extremely intrigued by W7, not only is their packaging super duper cute but their products are so affordable! Plus they actually looked pretty decent, so I dived in.
The first product I wanted to try was the W7 Photo Shoot Foundation.
“Photoshoot Foundation is a creamy foundation with a full coverage.
The foundation has the staying power of up to 16 hours and is your go-to “budge-proof” base!”
Sounds dreamy yes? And to be perfectly frank, it is just that. Dreamy. The consistency of this foundation is bang in the middle – not too thick and not too runny. It is super easy to blend and yes – it is pretty full coverage! I tend to steer towards light to medium coverage as I fear the dreaded “cake face” that may accompany a fuller coverage foundation, but this was a pleasant surprise! I wouldn’t say it blanks everything out, but it kind of airbrushes the skin and blurs away imperfections.
The finish I would refer to as a satin-matte. It isn’t dewy, but also not completely flat. It keeps a slight sheen to it that keeps your skin actually looking like skin – just flawless skin! I do finish with a powder around areas that I tend to get a bit oily and they sit absolutely fine on top. And does it last 16 hours? Actually I have no idea, does anyone need makeup to last that long!? But it definitely lasts me a good 8-10 hours which is plenty long enough for me to keep makeup on my face.
It does have a slight scent to it that I can’t quite pin down, but it isn’t strong and I really don’t mind it. The only thing I don’t like about the W7 Photo Shoot Foundation is the packaging. When I say packaging I don’t mean the literal packaging, I actually love the frosted glass with the black (super chic). But, the application method behind this I do find a little tedious. It is just a bottle really, so no doe-foot applicator or even a pump. This can make getting the product out a little long winded, but then it does apply beautifully to the skin. And for the ridiculously affordable price of £6.95 I really am not complaining! A pump or something would be the cherry on top, but even so this is an awesome foundation that has not let me down!
