Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation Review
I was beyond ecstatic when I heard there was going to be a foundation in the Revolution Conceal and Define collection. I am lover of Revolution products in general, but their Conceal and Define Concealer is a firm favourite of mine. While I do love their Fast Base Stick Foundation (Full Review & Swatches) I am still figuring out the best way to use it on my skin. But THIS!? I had high expectations for this being the big sister of the matching concealer, so does it live up to them?
“Offering lightweight yet buildable coverage in 24 skin-true shades, this versatile foundation is designed to suit every skin type and tone. With an oil-free yet creamy and comfortable formula that dries down to a long-lasting, demi-matte finish, it won’t settle into fine lines or cling to dry patches. Housed in a luxe glass bottle with a jumbo doe-foot applicator for greater control and less waste, this foundation offers highly pigmented coverage that can be layered or diffused to suit your look. Swipe on and blend out to ramp up the coverage for a ‘real skin’ finish that diffuses blemishes and uneven skin tone. Or let your complexion’s natural character shine through using a small amount with a damp beauty sponge for veil-like coverage.”
So starting with the packaging, it really is almost too much to handle. Literally the grown up version of the concealer, it still has the rose gold details and even a doe-foot applicator! I know some may think using a doe-foot to apply foundation may not be the most sanitary, I personally don’t have an issue with it as concealers are in this format anyway so I don’t really see a difference. It is a fairly decent size (0.8fl oz/23ml) and at £9.00 is super affordable.
On to the shades. There are 24 – yes,24 – shades to choose from. This part was pretty easy for me as I already have the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer (Full Review & Swatches) so was able to match to that. But if this is new to you, they have detailed shade descriptions to help. I was intrigued to see whether the shades are identical to the concealers, which they pretty much are. This matches me perfectly – although when I have a tan (fake, obvs) it will probably be slightly too pale – something I didn’t think about when matching to my usual concealer.

The application is great, as you would expect from a liquid foundation really and the doe-foot doesn’t really alter anything – although it does actually help avoid mess! Blending wise this was SO easy. It just melts onto the skin and blends out beautifully but still keeps the coverage (I prefer the finish using a beauty blender). I wouldn’t say it is completely full coverage, but still full enough that I probably wouldn’t wear it every day and more for occasions or when I want flawless looking skin (it has a gorgeous satin/matte finish). I would say a medium to full coverage, but it is buildable so if you want to cover everything you can.
Overall, I geniunely love this foundation. Everything about it is exactly what I hoped for. The coverage, the finish, even the packaging. This has got to be my favourite collection from Revolution – just a powder to finish it off now please!?
